Questing and Crafting: Verteron

I have finally made my way from my home in Poeta to the Sanctum and now onto my next task: Verteron!

The best thing about Poeta is the beautiful Cliona Lake and its flying fish. Verteron, so far, has shown me 1 feature I'm especially excited about: dinosaurs! These massive ones live in Verteron's lake (and I don't see a rival yacht club -- maybe I should open a chain throughout the zones) and there are also the dangerous and incredibly scary frillnecks which reside in the Southern Tolbas Forest.

I have been trying to level up a bit, so that I'm not stuck at level 10 for too long. But I did take a stop by the Artisan's Hall and pick up a few professions: cooking and handicrafts. Handicrafts reminds me a lot of tinkering from Asheron's Call, so it will be interesting to see how that one progresses. Cooking is pretty standard.

One thing that I find very interesting about the professions is the Work Order system. It seems to be a great way to level up your skill without having to run around searching for many specific components. In the case of cooking, I continuously did the 1p, 10p, and 20p orders and leveled my cooking up to 30 and collected 15 different food components.

The places to actually perform crafting are beautiful too -- the alchemy labs, looms, metal works, lab tables, and kitchens are all animated and simply fun to be around. I think I especially like the magic knives and pans at the cooking station. Oh and thank you, Aion, for having custom animations for these tasks, success and failure. The first time I threw a pot to the ground after failing to make a food really tickled me.
